We were looking for a pet-friendly hotel for an overnight stay for our long trip from Birmingham to Carlisle, and Travelodge Crewe ticked that particular box. That said we did have to pay a 20 surcharge for our dog, which I suppose is fair enough; but for a standard room for two, along with 24 hour wifi (which really only translates into less than half that given our short duration) and a rather expensive but basic packaged breakfast, the final bill came to around 77.The room itself was basic but functional, and quiet. However we were directly above a bike "shed", which seems to have been used by smokers, because when we entered the room (room 221) for the first time we were assailed by the acrid smell of cigarette smoke! The bed was comfortable, and there was a small flat screen TV, which we never bothered with. The bathroom was clean but nothing special, but I guess we were just thankful for a place to rest our heads. The 5.99 breakfast really does need to be advertised in more detail on their website because all you get is a tub of cornflakes, a small carton of milk, a carton of juice and a muffin. Go to a place like Premier Inn and you could almost get a full English for that!Fortunately what the hotel lacked in eateries and bars, was made up for by the immediate area consisting of a Subway, a couple of pubs, a Spar, a Co-op, a Chinese Takeaway and a couple of other fast-food joints.Overall, a good place to rest you weary head.

Really you can't go wrong with a Travel Lodge!Clean basic rooms in a no frills hotel. We have stayed in many Travel Lodges, and this one was as good as any of the others. The car park is pretty spacious and just opposite the hotel is a Pub and some shops etc. Not that it's something we encountered, but I am sure on the weekends in the summer the pub can probably get a bit rowdy.

The WiFi sucked but the rest of the stay was great fun, thank you Claire for looking out for us

Clean room, comfortable bed. What more do you need? There is never enough coffee and tea etc for me. Only thing that bothered me was that the plug socket was the other side of the room from the bed. Meant I had to get up to turn off the alarm on my phone.

Would be 5 stars if the shower wasn't so retarded in use. It should be at least movable. The place was tidy, and fairly quiet, but doors leading to the hallway could be better as we struggled to sleep at 11 when the cleaners walked by and spoke loudly. Would highly recommend it nevertheless, as the overall standard of things and the staff were ok to say the least.
